Let’s face it: we all miss traveling freely, don’t we? I know I do…which is why I wanted to do a throwback post to my 2019 trip with my S/O.
Featured below is a gallery of pictures from our 5-day cruise to the Bahamas with Royal Caribbean. We both saved up over the course of a few months, and decided this would be a perfect belated one year anniversary trip! Was it cheap? Dear God, no. But we got a deal on the tickets, so it definitely could’ve been worse. We decided to do the full drink package, as well, so we honestly spent about half of our time on the ship with piña coladas and other various tropical drinks in hand. It was absolutely lovely…as were the drinks themselves and the amazing staff that kept us well-stocked and happy.
On the ship, we definitely had some favorites when it came to food. Breakfast was always done with coffee and mimosas. We ate escargot almost every night with dinner. The tres leches they had on their dessert menu? Delicious.
We also had a few stops along the way, to include Nassau and the private island that Royal Caribbean runs called “Perfect Day at Coco Cay” which is basically like a giant water park and private beach. In Nassau, we took our time exploring. We had our first island stop at one of the little beach bars, which was where we got out Bahama Mama/Bahama Papa drinks. We walked along the beach with those and eventually we hit up a restaurant that my S/O had come to once before years ago: a great place called Goldie’s Conch House. We had lunch there, and got the conch fritters, obviously! At Perfect Day, we hopped from beach to beach to pool to restaurant trying to enjoy everything they had to offer.
I truly can’t wait to be able to travel again when it’s safe to do so! Someday I may come back to Nassau and to Goldie’s (fingers crossed that they’ll still be there), but I can absolutely promise that my days of traveling and eating are far from over!
